At Sojourn we have a plurality of elders to lead, teach, correct, and guide the community in our pursuit of Christ.
Lead Pastor/Elder Isaac Martin met his wife Kate while in College at Radford University. They both grew up in Southwest Virginia and have a deep love for the people of this region. Isaac graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary with a M.A. in Biblical Studies. They live in Floyd with their three children, Naomi, Layla, and Emmet.
Michael was born and raised in Virginia Beach, went to college at Virginia Tech, and has lived in the New River Valley since 2009. He met his wife, Emily, while they both attended Virginia Tech and Valley Bible Church. Michael and Emily share a love for good books, good food, and good coffee. They love the Church and feel God leading them to pastoral ministry, teaching, and discipleship.
Michael has apprenticed for pastoral ministry with The Bonhoeffer Haus since 2014 and became an elder at Sojourn in 2017. He has a B.A. in Communication from Virginia Tech and is graduating with his M.Div in Christian Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2019.
Daniel and Morgan Grim met at Floyd County High School and attended Virginia Tech. As newlyweds, they returned to Floyd to put down their own roots on Daniel's family farm where they live with their three girls, surrounded by extended family. They love growing and sharing good food, making old junk beautiful, and celebrating their hope in Christ through serving and enjoying neighbors and family.
