Welcome Song: Overwhelmed

I see the work of Your hands

Galaxies spin in a Heavenly dance, oh God

All that You are is so overwhelming

If I hear the sound of Your Voice

All at once it's a gentle and thundering noise, oh God

All that You are is so overwhelming

I delight myself in You

Captivated by Your beauty

I'm overwhelmed, I'm overwhelmed by You

God I run into Your arms

Unashamed because of mercy

I'm overwhelmed, I'm overwhelmed by You

I know the power of Your Cross

Forgiven and free forever You'll be my God

And all that You've done is so overwhelming

You are beautiful, You are beautiful

Oh God, there is no one more beautiful

You are beautiful, God you are the most beautiful

You are wonderful, You are wonderful

Oh God, there is no one more wonderful

You are wonderful, God You are the most wonderful

You are glorious, You are glorious

Oh God, there is no one more glorious

You are glorious, God You are the most glorious

Call to Worship

Daniel Grim, Elder

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways know him,
and he will make your paths straight.
— Proverbs 3:5-6

Man of Sorrows (Hosanna)

Man of sorrows Lamb of God by His own betrayed

The sin of man and wrath of God has been on Jesus laid

Silent as He stood accused beaten mocked and scorned

Bowing to the Father's will he took a crown of thorns

Oh that rugged cross my salvation

Where Your love poured out over me

Now my soul cries out, "Hallelujah"

Praise and honor unto Thee

Sent of heaven God's own Son to purchase and redeem

And reconcile the very ones who nailed Him to that tree

Now my debt is paid it is paid in full

By the precious blood that my Jesus spilled

Now the curse of sin has no hold on me

Whom the Son sets free, oh, is free indeed! (Repeat)

See the stone is rolled away behold the empty tomb

Hallelujah God be praised He's risen from the grave!

Boldly I Approach

By grace alone somehow I stand where even angels fear to tread

Invited by redeeming love before the throne of God above

He pulls me close with nail-scarred hands into His everlasting arms

When condemnation grips my heart and Satan tempts me to despair

I hear the voice that scatters fear; the Great I Am, the Lord is here

O praise the One who fights for me, and shields my soul eternally!

Boldly I approach your throne, blameless now I’m running home

By your blood I come, welcomed as Your own

Into the arms of majesty

Behold the bright and risen Son; more beauty than this world has known

I’m face to face with Love Himself, His perfect spotless righteousness

A thousand years, a thousand tongues are not enough to sing His praise

This is the art of celebration

Knowing we're free from condemnation

O praise the One, praise the One, who made an end to all my sin (Repeat)

Whom Shall I Fear? (God of Angel Armies)

You hear me when I call, You are my morning song

Though darkness fills the night, it cannot hide the Light

Whom shall I fear?

You crush the enemy underneath my feet

You are my sword and shield, though troubles linger still

Whom shall I fear?

I know who goes before me, I know who stands behind

The God of angel armies is always by my side

The One who reigns forever, He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies, is always by my side

My strength is in Your name, for You alone can save

You will deliver me, Yours is the victory

Whom shall I fear, whom shall I fear?

And nothing formed against me shall stand

You hold the whole world in Your hands

I'm holding on to Your promises, You are faithful,

You are faithful (x2)

You are faithful

Message

Scripture

1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, while Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Iturea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, 2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, God’s word came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness. 3 He went into all the vicinity of the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, 4 as it is written in the book of the words of the prophet Isaiah:
A voice of one crying out in the wilderness:
Prepare the way for the Lord;
make his paths straight!
5 Every valley will be filled,
and every mountain and hill will be made low;
the crooked will become straight,
the rough ways smooth,
6 and everyone will see the salvation of God.

7 He then said to the crowds who came out to be baptized by him, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Therefore produce fruit consistent with repentance. And don’t start saying to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones. 9 The ax is already at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

10 “What then should we do? ” the crowds were asking him.

11 He replied to them, “The one who has two shirts must share with someone who has none, and the one who has food must do the same.”

12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they asked him, “Teacher, what should we do? ”

13 He told them, “Don’t collect any more than what you have been authorized.”

14 Some soldiers also questioned him, “What should we do? ”
He said to them, “Don’t take money from anyone by force or false accusation, and be satisfied with your wages.”
— Luke 3:1-14

Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heav'nly host;

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Amen.

Victory in Jesus

I heard an old, old story how a Savior came from glory,

How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me.

I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood’s atoning

Then I repented of my sin, Christ won the victory.

Oh victory in Jesus! My Savior forever!

He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood

He loved me ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him

He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing; all his miracles revealing

That He alone can save a soul and set the captive free

I’m happy in His promise, how soon He’s coming for us

And home with Him I’ll sing again, “Christ won the victory!”

I’ll tell the old, old story till my Savior comes from glory

I’ll tell of all the Lord has done to set this sinner free

That all who will believe Him, by faith, can still receive him

And share in that redemption song: “Christ won the victory!”

Benediction
