1. How does the Good News of God’s salvation invite our submission? What are we supposed to do, when God calls us by His grace?

2. Why is a joy-filled believer (and a joy-filled church) significant in God’s kingdom? Describe the differences you have seen—in churches, and in individuals—regarding joyfulness and joylessness? How does joy communicate the Gospel?

3. What did Zechariah learn—and sing—about salvation? (See vv. 68-79.) How does his ministry, and how does the ministry of his son John, inform our own calling to tell others?
